TN State Under 9 Chess Championship 2020

Shakthi Chess Academy, Mylapore students rocked at TN State Under 9 Chess Championship 2020

C Harikrishna bagged the 4th place in the 33rd Tamil Nadu State Under 9 Open Chess Championship, held at Dharmapuri. At a glimpse, he was the only undefeated player of the first 7 rounds in the tournament.

He is one of the directly selected players by the state to represent it in the under 9 National Chess Championship, which is to be held later this year at Haryana.

He has been learning chess under the guidance of Mr Sakthi Prabhakar for the past four years. He is a 3rd grade student of DAV Boys School, Gopalapuram. He is also a dominant performer in his academics. The school encourages and supports to bring out the best in him.

In the Girls category of this tournament, Deepika J of Shakthi Chess Academy won the 14th place. She is studying in Vidhya Mandir Mylapore at 4th Standard. She is also getting training at KQ Chess Academy and she carved out to be a fine player by both.
